Abstract :
Anycast is a new "one-to-one-of-many" communication paradigm. It is the general communication form of unicast and multicast. In this paper, a new anycast routing algorithm with an on-demand deflection routing scheme in GoOBS (Grid over OBS) is proposed. The new idea of the anycast is the following: 1) based on a certain weighted function, dynamically determines if the burst should be deflection routed or retransmitted from source and 2) if the decision is to deflection route, then the same is done using a threshold check that is based on the number of hops, load on Grid resource servers and blocking due to contention. The proposed anycast routing scheme prevents injudicious deflection routing. Via simulations, the performance of the anycast algorithm is showed and compared them with the related prior works. The blocking probability of requests and average number of hops are improved.
