Abstract :
With the introduction of MBMS (multimedia broadcast/multicast services), new requirements are introduced in order to offer this service to all users. Due to the low UMTS resources there is a need to enhance the UMTS network. In this paper, an optimized point-to-point MBMS mode scheduling scheme using DCH/FACH (dedicated channel/forward access channel) and DSCH (downlink shared channel) channels is presented and aims to provide the necessary complimentary quality of service for video streaming services required for MBMS
