Abstract
A new differential inductance type level is proposed, which is used to measure the phase angle to the horizontal plane. This paper uses the principle of heavy hammer maintaining the vertical direction to the horizontal plane by gravity force, designs a differential, air-gap inductance type level. It can measure the tilt angle of the measured work piece, and overcome the lower precision defects of standard bubble level. At the same time, it also can avoid the problems of capacitive type level, such as high cost and accuracy vulnerable to temperature and humidity, etc. This instrument can be used to measure the straightness of guide rail and flatness of the work piece surface. It can also be used in mechanical engineering experiments and teaching practice in the universities.
