Abstract
By means of the porous material model in DEFORM-3D, the loose densification process of a heavy ingot was researched during a stretching forging. A finite model whose cross section size was 200 × 200 mm and length was 300 mm was established. In order to simulate the center porosity of the true ingot, about φ150 mm diameter range in the centre was regarded as porosity zone and its relative density was defined as 0.8, the relative density of the outside layer was 1. The relative density was selected as the evaluating indicator during simulating, and the effect of the main process parameter on the densification were analyzed quantificationally. Based on the simulation research, the influence rule of the temperature, height reduction and anvil ratio were obtained. The results showed that better densification effect could be obtained at 1000°C, and densification effect increased with the increasing of height reduction. When anvil ratio was 0.6, a better densification effect could be obtained.
