Abstract :
This paper describes the polarization mechanisms involved in the stress distribution in multi-layer insulation systems at different test frequencies using QuickfieldTM finite element analysis software for simulations of tan d values in different dielectric materials. Each layer has its own dielectric response and, when putting them together, the total response will not only reflect properties of each material, but also the way they are combined. This paper will describe the polarization mechanisms involved in the stress distribution in multi-layer insulation systems.
