Abstract
High field conduction in polybutadiene is studied by using a guarded needle electrode and single, unipolar triangular voltage pulses to create high local field while avoiding thermal runaway. Measurements indicate an unusually large space charge limited field at room temperature where the material is a highly viscous liquid. Measurements are presented as a function of fluid molecular weight to shed light on the unusual dielectric properties of this material
