  • Abstract
    This paper describes a parameter extraction system for tone synthesis of the Dan Tranh, a Vietnamese string instrument, using partial decay estimation and single delay loop model. The parameters of the string model are estimated and the excitation signals for the model are extracted from recorded tones. The quality of synthesized tones is also studied based on different recorded data, numerous analyzed partials, amplitude normalization and changing parameters of short-time Fourier transform. The result is also compared with the Korean Gayageum.
