Abstract :
The feasibility of storing 40 Gbps RZ-OOK and RZ-DPSK signals in dynamically reconfigurable, folded-path optical delay buffers is demonstrated for the first time. For RZ-DPSK signals, the power penalty due to the buffer is negligible.
