Abstract :
Gating for maneuvering target tracking in clutter is considered. Based on the conventional model probability weighted gating (MPWG) technique, three modified gating techniques are given, including adaptive gating (AG), model probability weighted centralized gating (MPW-CG), and model probability weighted model based gating (MPW-MBG). Furthermore, a measure based on the error covariance matrix is used for performance comparison which is more comprehensive. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the modified gating techniques and their superiority to the MPWG technique. MPW-CG is recommended based on the performance and computational complexity jointly.
