Abstract :
In this work, a new modeling and control technique for a three-phase boost converter is presented for efficient transfer of energy from an irregular input power source to a battery storage device or a DC link. First, a novel network model of a three-phase boost converter is developed using the method of averaging. Based on the model obtained, a feedback controller is developed to regulate the three-phase input resistances of the circuit to the desired values. The circuit can be designed to provide purely active power conversion of a band-limited input voltage source to a DC load. Numerical simulations are presented that illustrate performance of the proposed modeling and feedback control scheme. Experimental studies of the proposed system are under investigation.
