Abstract
The Swedish operator Telia has been working with energy management for a number of years. The driving forces have been increased competition because of market deregulation, changes to the network structure and stringent requirements for reliability. Optimizing the operating costs of the network is today´s challenge. Energy management has evolved from technical specifications to open systems and now process support from the energy management system. This paper deals with the different aspects of implementing and operating a nationwide energy management system within Telia´s network in Sweden
