Abstract
The NTT Group considers the implementation and optimization of a comprehensive system for the management of risk, cost and environmental effects to be important. They refer to this concept as “Total Power Management”. The NTT Group is currently proceeding with a plan to reduce electric power consumption to 1990 levels by the year 2010. At the same time, they have launched the Total Power Revolution (TPR) Campaign with the specific goal of realizing a dramatic reform in the use of energy, with the overall aim of reaching the above target. This program of the NTT Group can be viewed as a trial run for first practical implementation of Total Power Management. This paper describes the pursuit of a strategy for comprehensive energy conservation by the NTT Group, and the concept of “Total Power Management”
