Abstract
A non-contact displacement sensor using the self-mixing interference inside a cw single-mode laser diode has been developed to measure displacements up to 10 cm per second and resonance frequencies with a resolution of 0.2 Hz. This sensor has been used for defects detection and to determine the spectrum of a metallic plate
