Abstract :
Red light spectrum has apparent effect on plant growth; however, for ordinary on-the-market products, the spectra of fluorescent lamps lack this part of light. Besides, the lamp luminous intensity driven by ordinary electronic ballast is easily affected by ambient temperature, input voltage, and lamp operation hours. Light intensities of these fluorescent lamp ballasts are not suitably regulated and long-term stabilized. This paper proposes a light source composed of fluorescent lamp and red LEDs eligible for tissue culture of Anoectochilus Formosanus Hayata. This hybrid source system is able to serve as a better light source for plant and to be more energy-economical.
