Abstract
This paper presents a step by step approach in identifying the various sources of EMI noise in a rectifier, followed by methods to simulate these sources. The following step shows a procedure by which different sections of the rectifier could be simulated from an EMC point of view. The forthcoming sections reveal the use of simulation results in prediction of attenuation characteristics required for the filters and using those to design the actual EMI filters required. The last chapter of the issue presents the preliminary results of the EMC measurements that have been done on the pre-production unit of the new 2750 W/50 A Helios Prodigy Rectifier
