Abstract
We have experimentally demonstrated 10 Gbit/s modified duo-binary RZ (MD-RZ) signal repeaterless transmission of a record length of 300 km over standard fibre (SMF-28). A Raman amplifier was used to enhance the OSNR and extend the repeaterless transmission distance with low receiver penalty.
