Abstract :
Since the mid-1990s, large scale end-use electricity consumption studies for the residential sector have nearly disappeared. This dirge of information has introduced additional difficulty for researchers seeking to model and analyze loads at the distribution level. In lieu of using collected data, some researchers have developed load models to serve as the source of end-use information. An alternative to this practice is presented in this paper. In addition to a discussion of pertinent end-use load profile data sources, a methodology for updating earlier case study results is presented. Actual residential electrical load profiles are presented and findings indicate method suitability.
