Abstract
The vibrations of a magnetostrictive actuator excited by a harmonic alternating current are analyzed. In the mathematical modeling of the problem, some coefficients in governing equation and boundary condition are of periodic variation with time. Using regular perturbation approach to the mathematical problem including a small parameter, approximately analytical solution is obtained. The amplitude-frequency characteristic curves from the analytical solution agree well with the experimental data in reference, which verifies the validation of the present method and solutions.
