Abstract :
Though the conventional sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM) methods used in DC-AC converters give high quality output with low harmonic distortion, they result in high switching loss. The alternative-hybrid pulse width modulation (HPWM) which reduces total switching loss, but it causes unequal losses among switches. To overcome excessive heating of high frequency switches, a time-shared cyclic switching method for HPWM inverter is proposed. The proposed method equalizes switching losses of all the six switches, while circuit retains the inherent ease of filtering.
