  • Abstract
A new framework of a highly flexible, technology-independent, analog-to-digital-converters compiler (HiFADiCC) has been developed. It can generate successive-approximations analog-to-digital converters of 12-14-b precision clocked at 200 kHz up to an 8-b pipelined converter with the sampling frequency higher than 10 MHz. These performances are estimated by using a newly developed flexible A/D converter and a target technology of two-polysilicon, two-metal 1-μm CMOS. HiFADiCC consists of two tools: synthesis, which chooses and computes the structure of a successive-approximations converter according to the user´s specification, in a given technology; and generation, which transforms this structure into mask geometry with the help of a cell library
