Abstract
We investigated the influence of dielectric spacer thickness on the metamaterials absorber at microwave frequency. The absorption feature was demonstrated and characterized by the numerical simulations and experiments. The thickness of FR4 spacer was varied to examine the electromagnetic response of the short and long wires structure. It was found that there existed two different absorption mechanisms which were concerned with dielectric spacer thickness. Related explanations and discussions were provided in this paper.
