Abstract :
This article presents and analyses an approach used to model distributed continuous media applications in terms of an object-based description of support for continuous media and of software reuse. Support for continuous media is discussed in terms of rate control and stream handling, and it is provided at the application level, and thus, the approach satisfies requirements for open-endedness
