Abstract :
Enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS) is very important airborne system for flight safety. The structure of awareness alerting module in EGPWS, the design of terrain database and alerting algorithm are researched in this paper. The mathematical model of awareness alerting is built and algorithm based on terrain database is proposed. Additionally, Simulation system of EGPWS is designed and fulfilled based on the software package with high fidelity flight tool. Awareness alerting algorithm is test by the simulation system. Those discussed in the paper are expected to lay a good foundation for the development in EGPWS.
