Abstract
The aim of this paper is to assess the accuracy of the localization of the knee center, computed intraoperatively during a surgery procedure, by a kinematic approach. We propose a method based on the estimation of the mean helical axis during flexion-extension motion using a 3D navigation approach. This validation study was successively performed on sawbone, and clinical data collected intraoperatively during computer assisted surgeries of the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament).
