Abstract :
In this paper, a comprehensive and systematical analysis method is proposed to assess voltage stability of AC/DC systems. The traditional modal analysis method generally applied to AC systems will be extended to the application of AC/DC systems by introducing the eliminated variable AC/DC load flow. The dynamic components, such as excitation system, DC lines and controller are also taken into account to obtain more correct assessment results. Though the works mainly analyze the system based on the single-infeed DC configuration, the proposed methodologies are independent of the system configuration. The model is further extended for dynamic simulation by adding dynamic components.
