Abstract :
A Ku band parabolic cylindrical reflector antenna with a linear microstrip array as an offset feed is studied. The antenna is simple in construction and high in gain, and it can be used as a low cost receiving antenna in a DBS or satellite TV receiving system. Efforts were made on the design of the feed to produce optimum illumination for the reflector surface. The physical-optics approximation is used to find the induced surface currents and the currents integration method is applied to analyse the far field radiation. Numerical and experimental results of far field patterns are obtained and gain of the reflector is determined
