Abstract
A simple and precise free-space polarizability measurement method for electrically small particles is presented. The method is based on measuring the scattering parameters of a waveguide loaded by a particle and on knowledge of the dipolar polarizabilities of two calibration standards. The method is verified on a metallic disc and a resonant conducting ring terminated by a capacitor .
