Abstract :
Swarm intelligence is a group of methods which hás been extensively used to solve hard computation problems. Ant colony meta-heuristic is one technique of this group based on the ant real life and behavior. This technique uses some properties associated to communication among the ants and how they seem to solve a specific problem. The current paper presents an approach to solve power distribution system restoration problems, when a failure occurs in the system. This approach is based on ant colony techniques. An illustrative example is also presented to verify the quality of the proposed approach.
