Abstract :
The compensation of exterior magnetic field (EMF) in unbounded regions for a dynamic system, and in particular for large shipboard-type electrical machines, is a very specific and challenging research area. The report describes the part of the larger project pertinent to EMC of the shipboard-type large induction motors and synchronous machines. As a part of the project, a massive experimental work was developed to detect and investigate the types of the EMF generated by the shipboard-type electrical equipment in the outer space. Also as a part of the project, simplified spherical harmonics techniques were used to form the AC machines´ multipole spectral images (MSI) and the linear-independent parameters of the MSI were determined. The EMC systems design and analysis were based on the generalised EMC equation solution by means of different control networks and adjustment technologies. The structure of the report is organised as follows: the history of the problem and the report main features; the fundamentals of AC machines EMF analysis based on MSI approach and a variety of EMF experimental results; derivation of a generalised EMC equation and generalised system network, both built on MSI techniques; and an application of the EMC systems for the standard large shipboard asynchronous and synchronous machines
