Abstract
The authors have presented an approach to developing and implementing test programs that may bridge the testability analysis/test program gap. The Navy´s IDSS (integrated diagnostics support system) program provides the framework for the concept. Although a formal effort to demonstrate the concept has not commenced, the authors hope to see the potential of the approach realized in the future. By applying a sound concurrent approach to weapon system diagnostic design, the timely and affordable development of highly effective test programs can be assured. Within the IDSS framework, this can be best achieved by continued support and improvement of the IDSS tool set, which can evolve in step with industry standards and expectations
