Abstract
This presentation discusses the application of emerging virtual modeling and software design methodologies to practical use in engineering test development, manufacturing test and field maintenance testing. Object oriented design methodologies are being adapted to the automated test process for complex electronic components, printed wiring assemblies, electronic and avionics subassemblies and aircraft/weapon systems and subsystems. This paper describes engineering tools based on these processes that are being developed and used on both defense and commercial programs in an attempt to reduce program and product life cycle costs
