Abstract :
Recently, there is increasing demand for improving the quality of engineering education. Further, there is a requirement for improving the performance quality of students conducting engineering experiments. In this study, we investigate the provision of technical skill education during engineering experiments. We also point out problems occurring during such experiments- problems related to the preparation of teaching material and evaluation of experiments-and propose an education scheme that will help eliminate these problems. To eliminate the former type of problems, we develop a simple technique for creating movies to be used as teaching materials. Further, to eliminate the latter type of problems, we analyze the eye and arm movements of teachers and students performing electrical and biological experiments. The analysis results show that consciousness of time, effective device operation, and understanding of the experimental procedure are essential factors for a student to perform an experiment well.
