Abstract :
This paper describes how a new application,SOP4GIS-a combination of service-oriented architecture (SOA), peer to peer (P2P) and public participatory geographic information system (PPGIS)deploys and invokes ordinary services and special services separately to meet the demands of ordinary users and experts. This method will be enjoyed for overcoming defects in browser/server (B/S) mode such as over-dependence on servers or poor performance of data transmission. Meanwhile, system interfaces can be transformed into three-dimensional ones to offer vivid geographic information and convenient operation.
