Abstract
This paper studies signal control logic for isolated intersection in oversaturated conditions. Motivated by the need to improve adaptive control for oversaturated intersection, we examined the existing control logic and proposed enhancements in traffic prediction and delay estimation during system optimization. We demonstrated the effectiveness of the improvements in a simulation experiment where our new control logic is implemented on the CORSIM platform. The study compared our model with actuated control and other control algorithms. The notable reduction in delay signifies the importance of the proposed modeling improvements
