Abstract
In the vast majority of the literature on fault trees, information is only provided on the basic events and is described probabilistically. In this paper, we extend this in two ways: we consider information at both basic and non-basic events, and we describe our uncertainties about this information in terms of both probability and Dempster-Shafer evidence theory. We develop these extensions for the AND gate.
