  • Abstract
    Content discovery metadata is one of the foremost important issues in any IPTV standard. Different IPTV standards have specific protocols to access (including update) the metadata database of their specific schemas. In this paper, we present a generic protocol that enables an IPTV device to access discovery metadata of different schemas. This approach also supports the evolution of metadata schemas in the future.
