Abstract :
The present work proposes a methodology to obtain setting parameters of a power system stabilizer (PSS), through the implementation of search technique based on genetic algorithms (GA). To adjust the PSS using GA, the programming and dynamic analysis using Matlab / Simulink is performed, which includes the synchronous machine, excitation system and PSS, where the response of the machine to a disturbance is observed, to search for the stabilization of the system by an optimal setting of PSS parameters obtained using GA. The modeling of the machine and its controls is performed considering machine infinite bus as outline.
