Abstract
In this work, the performance of an array of TSAs inside an overmoded waveguide for a class-E, spatially distributed amplifier at X-band is analyzed. The antennas were matched to 50 Omega at the fundamental frequency and a short circuit stub was used to provide a reflective termination to the second harmonic. Inside a tray, the center antennas are slightly shorter than the edge antennas. The measurements of the 65 Omega antennas served to validate the simulations, and provide the foundation for the design of the 50 Omega antennas. These antennas were simulated for a 3-trays configuration, showing that an appropriate bandwidth can be obtained for this design.
