Abstract :
This paper examines the electrical power distributions within valve regulated lead-acid battery charge and discharge circuits to reveal a very practical source that can trigger thermal runaway in valve regulated battery systems. In lower voltage applications this energy can result in cell melt downs in the worst case it can result in violent eruption of the cell jar
