  • Abstract
In this paper, we propose a new method for detecting hazardous road surface conditions by using an omni-directional camera. A special imaging device that combines an omni-directional camera and a new detection method which uses polarization properties has been created for achieving good performance. By using this method, we can significantly reduce the number of traffic cameras for video surveillance used in the present.
