Abstract :
The economic scheduling of the various generating units in a power plant has been carried out using the equal incremental cost criterion. Generally, a power plant experiences transmission losses and hence the need arises to coordinate the incremental production cost with incremental transmission losses. The incremental production cost of a plant can be obtained from its composite cost equation. Here, a very simple short approach gives the power plant generation cost equation under optimum conditions
