Abstract
This paper presents a simple reconfigurable antenna with beam scanning property. The antenna consists of a driven strip element and a parasitic strip element with tunable lumped L/C loading. An array model is used to understand the beam scanning behavior. The antenna has potential applications in mobile systems due to the simple mechanical structure, portable size, and stable return loss.
