Abstract :
A 16 GHz microstrip modulator, fabricated on a thin slab of GaAs 25 microns thick, has been developed for CO 2 laser radiation. An instantaneous bandwidth of 1 GHz and a single optical sideband efficiency of 0.7 percent has been obtained with 20 watts of microwave driving power.
