  • Abstract
This paper reports the assessment results of 96 fractional and small power three phase induction motors for roller and conveyor in-plant transportation applications. The motors have a number of poles from 2 up to 12 and they have been selected in order to get a significant sample of the induction motors used in conveyor and roller systems. An indirect method has been used for the determination of the main electrical and mechanical characteristics. The obtained results are summarized in several figures reporting the considered quantities as a function of the motor rated power. The presented results of this activity can be considered a snapshot of fractional power motor performances whose are of interest in industrial and tertiary communities.
