Abstract :
This paper presents a creative design for a motion stage. The system consists of a stepping motor, a stage, a potentiometer, two wires, and spring. The design is based on changing the length of a wire while the wire is being twisted. According to the experimental results, it is disclosed that the positioning accuracy of the stage will reach to plusmn 0.02 mm at each step. The advantages of the design are simple structure, easy control, and cost down.
