Abstract :
The idea of using element rotation to provide phase shift for circularly polarized (CP) reflectarray antennas is studied here. Investigations on these antenna sub-types often involve element design and the simulation as well as measurement of phase shifting properties using a waveguide simulator. Modern refiectarray antennas are typically fabricated using dielectric laminates. For passive elements, the use of a ground plane and low-loss materials allow for linear polarization reflection coefficient magnitudes that are nominally equal to 1. These results have shown that successful operation can be achieved for a range of dielectric thicknesses and so standard material sizes can be used.
