Abstract :
The success of telemedicine depends on the availability of advanced medical equipment that can streamline the tasks of medical data collection, processing and archiving. Audio signnals acquired by stethoscopes are some of the basicc data used by physicians in diagnosis of diseases bbut there is no systematic approach to store the acq uired signals in electronic health records. This may duue to the fact that electronic stethoscopes are still tooo expensive for general adoption in common doctor´s ooffices. We have thus developed a low cost tele-ausccultation system which comprises an electronic stethhoscope with a Bluetooth link to an electronic health reecord server.
