Abstract :
The storage architecture, data layout and access control strategies of the large-scale video storage server have great effects on its performance. In this paper, it analyses the performance requirement, architecture, data layout, access controlling and etc. of the large-scale video storage server and proposes a multi-segment video storage strategy of MPEG coding, which is based on the parallel disk array, the QoS requirements of multi-users and the three-layer scalability. Compared with the balanced placement and periodic placement methods, it can provide better flexibility and scalability.
