Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to detect and isolate faults of current sensors for the interior permanent magnet synchronous motor(IPMSM) through the model-based approach. The model-based fault detection and isolation(FDI) is conducted by the parity space approach. This method detects faults from the analytical redundancy generated from the mathematical system model. Based on the mathematical model and the input and output signals, the residual is generated. Once the residual is generated and evaluated, it should be then compared with the limit value which is called the time varying adaptive thresholds. The FDI algorithm for the IPMSM is proposed. Before verifying FDI algorithm, the types of current sensor faults are introduced. For getting the simulation results of the proposed FDI algorithm, the IPMSM model is developed by using MATLAB/Simulink environment. Simulation results show the validity and performance of the proposed algorithm.
