  • Abstract
In this paper, we present an extended boid model for simulating the aggregate motion offish school. In our extended boid model, six behavior rules are newly proposed in addition to three classical boid rules. The new rules are: the rule of following feeds, the rule of fleeing from predators, the rule with other schools which are neither predators nor feeds, the rule of free moving for searching in the virtual sea, the rule of no exceeding the boundary such as surface and bottom of the sea, and the rule for avoiding the objects. By using extended boid model, the aggregate motion of artificial school fishs becomes more realistic and similar to behaviors of real fish world. We added some interactive functions for communicating with artificial fishes by using input devices. The user can experience what they cannot experience in real sea by the system.
